According to fvpresident.ir, Mohammadreza Aref said Sunday at a meeting with senior executives of the National Iranian Oil Company that the sector performed brilliantly during the war and thanked workers in the strategic oil industry for their round-the-clock efforts.
At the meeting, attended by National Iranian Oil Company CEO Hamid Bovard, board members and heads of subsidiary companies, Aref highlighted the oil sector’s critical role under wartime conditions.
“During the war, various parts of the government and industry remained active, but the oil sector stood out above all,” he said.
Aref added that operational staff across the industry demonstrated exceptional performance, from oil and gas production to fuel distribution, helping preserve economic calm in the country.
He said the achievements were the result of workers’ sacrifice, expertise and field presence, which prevented disruptions to people’s daily lives.
Aref also stressed the importance of the oil industry in sustaining the national economy, saying continued reliance on domestic capabilities and the dedication of oil workers would guarantee economic stability and help the country overcome difficult conditions.
Oil Industry Part of the War Effort
At the same meeting, Bovard said the oil industry had been one part of the broader war effort and that the National Iranian Oil Company had so far delivered a successful performance.
He said all managers and employees, both administrative and operational, would remain on duty alongside the Iranian people until the end and would not abandon the front line of resistance.
Bovard listed maintaining production, sustaining exports and generating foreign-currency revenue as the company’s three main wartime missions.
During the 40-day period, he said, repeated threats targeted oil infrastructure, including Kharg Island, the country’s main export terminal. Despite those threats, thousands of oil wells and reservoirs were managed to preserve production and exports through the extensive efforts of operational and headquarters staff.
Executives of the company’s subsidiaries also presented reports on measures taken to maintain oil and gas production and exports during the period.
