Minister reappoints head of International Energy Studies Institute

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s oil minister has reappointed Mohammad-Sadeq Jokar to another term as head of the International Energy Studies Institute.

In a decree, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad told Jokar:

“Based on the authorities stipulated in Note 1 of Article 8 of the institute’s bylaws, and considering your commitment and expertise, you are appointed by this decree as head of the International Energy Studies Institute for another term.

You are expected to pursue the following duties and responsibilities, in addition to the provisions of the institute’s bylaws and previous governing directives, within the framework of the priorities of the Oil Ministry in the 14th government and upstream documents, particularly the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran:

- Strengthen continuous engagement with various vice presidencies, headquarters departments, and parent and subsidiary companies to identify study and research needs, and ensure swift and effective responses to stated research needs with a problem-solving approach and the presentation of relevant action plans.

- Enhance the quantity and quality of the institute’s human and research resources based on periodic performance evaluations, and expand ties with universities, think tanks, associations and domestic policy centers to identify and resolve strategic and operational challenges in Iran’s energy sector, with an emphasis on oil and gas.

- Bolster the institute’s position as an early-warning reference for opportunities and threats in the energy sector at both domestic and international levels, while expanding long-term studies and research and energy data modeling.
