Oil minister praises operational forces, pledges to rebuild damaged facilities

SHANA (Tehran) - The oil minister praised operational personnel across the ministry’s four main companies and pledged to rebuild facilities damaged during the conflict.

He said public resistance to the brutal assault by a Zionist-American adversary exceeded expectations and deserved recognition. Employees of the National Iranian Oil Company, NIGC, NIORDC, and NPC played a key role during the war, he said, ensuring the supply of essential needs through sacrifice and dedication. He added that the oil industry now faces a more complex mission in the postwar period: rebuilding damaged infrastructure.

Mohsen Paknejad, speaking Saturday at a meeting with executives of the NIOC and its subsidiaries, said public resistance during the conflict had worn down the enemy. He credited both military forces and civilians for the victory.

He emphasized the role of oil industry workers in maintaining resilience under wartime conditions, saying fuel distribution continued without disruption despite hostile actions and pressure. Oil exports also continued uninterrupted during the conflict, he said, due to the efforts of operational staff.

Paknejad said the performance of operational forces during the war added to the industry’s record, noting that personnel accepted significant risks under critical conditions.

He said the ministry’s mission would become more complex after the war, requiring increased construction activity, better allocation of financial resources and cost control. Rebuilding damaged facilities will proceed alongside development projects, he added.

Paknejad said expectations of the Oil Ministry have risen due to the workforce’s performance and that the government is committed to quickly launching reconstruction of four gas refineries. He said planning and task allocation have already begun, and repairing other damaged facilities is among the ministry’s top priorities this year.

NIOC Completes Wartime Mission

Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, said management under the oil minister played a key role in advancing the company’s mission during the conflict. He cited multiple technical meetings and crisis task forces, as well as limited public communication due to security considerations, as factors in navigating the period successfully.

He also highlighted the importance of daily meetings attended by the oil minister, saying they contributed to crisis management and postwar planning.

Report From Kharg Island

bbas Asadrouz, CEO of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, delivered a phone report during the meeting, citing the resilience of operational staff on Kharg Island. Despite repeated attacks, crude exports continued as planned and were not disrupted, he said.

He added that direct follow-up by the oil minister, including phone calls to personnel on the island, helped boost morale.

Senior officials at the meeting also reviewed damage to facilities and stressed the need for continued crisis management and technical committee meetings during wartime conditions. Discussions also covered production increases, exploration, the status of Kharg Island as a key export terminal, and other technical issues.
