President cites national unity, coordination with armed forces during conflict

SHANA (Tehran) — President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country overcame a period of intense conflict through national unity and close coordination between the government and armed forces, emphasizing that essential public services continued uninterrupted.

In a message marking the 40th day since the martyrdom of the Leader, Pezeshkian said Iran was able to endure “difficult moments” by relying on cohesion and collective effort, describing the period as a major test for the nation.

He said the government stood “with full capacity” alongside the military during a national defense effort, while maintaining the flow of services, including healthcare, medicine supply, essential goods and fuel distribution.

The president said the imposed conflict resulted in casualties and damage to infrastructure, including educational, medical and cultural sites. He added that the country’s response combined military action, public support and continued government operations.

Pezeshkian said Iran’s armed forces demonstrated “courage and readiness” during the fighting, while the public showed unity across social and political differences. He described public participation as a key factor in maintaining national stability and security.

“The government remained on the ground,” he said, adding that efforts were made to preserve social order and ensure coordination among state institutions.

He also pointed to ongoing diplomatic efforts during the conflict, including talks with neighboring countries, regional actors and European nations, aimed at managing the crisis and conveying Iran’s position internationally.

According to the president, a ceasefire was reached after the United States accepted the general framework proposed by Iran. He said the decision was made with the approval of the country’s leadership and based on national interests, territorial integrity and long-term stability.

Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran does not seek conflict with regional countries and supports coexistence and mutual respect, while maintaining that it would respond decisively to any aggression.

He said the outcome of the conflict underscored the importance of unity and called for continued efforts to strengthen stability and security, adding that Iran would pursue development and reconstruction in the aftermath of the crisis.
