Saeid Baghbani said late Monday (April 6) on IRIB Channel One that, in attacks lacking regard for any rules, auxiliary facilities in the petrochemical sector were targeted Saturday (April 4) in the Mahshahr region and again Monday in Asaluyeh.

He added that efforts to control the situation, prevent further damage and ensure safety are being carried out immediately by teams in Asaluyeh, expressing hope that conditions will soon return to normal and be fully secured.

Damage to Auxiliary Facilities Affects Entire Petrochemical Sector

Baghbani said damage to auxiliary facilities impacts the entire petrochemical industry, describing it as part of a planned effort by the enemy to halt Iran’s petrochemical sector and create challenges in meeting public needs, thereby increasing pressure on a population he said is showing resilience.

He noted that the attacks are aimed at disrupting people’s needs in the short term, adding that Iran’s strength comes from public support. He said that while citizens continue to safeguard the system with sacrifice, industry workers and public servants will fulfill their responsibilities.

Baghbani said the key difference between Iran and its adversaries lies in public backing, adding that the enemy is aware Iran will ultimately rebuild and resolve the damage. He said the attacks are intended to pressure the country — particularly the Oil Ministry — and disrupt energy supplies.

Optimizing Energy Use Can Thwart Enemy Objectives

He praised public resilience and stressed that efficient use of energy carriers — including electricity, gas, gasoline and diesel — can help prevent the enemy from achieving its goals.

Baghbani added that just as people have shown resistance in recent days, their continued support for workers in the petrochemical sector can help counter the approach taken by the enemy.
