Russia’s minister expresses sympathy with Iranian people

SHANA (Tehran) – Russia’s energy minister said his country stands with the Iranian government and people during difficult and sorrowful moments, adding that the memory of Iran’s Leader and the schoolgirls killed will remain in their hearts.

Sergei Tsivilev visited the residence of Iran’s ambassador in Moscow on Thursday, where he signed a condolence book for the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other Iranian commanders and citizens.

After offering condolences to Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, he said Iran’s Leader, schoolgirls and other innocent citizens killed in a military aggression by the United States and Israel “will always remain in our hearts.”

He said Russia was saddened by the martyrdoms of Iranian citizens in the attacks and extended condolences to their families and to the Iranian people.

Tsivilev, who heads the Russian side of the Iran-Russia Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, said Iran and Russia, as friendly countries and strategic partners, share both moments of joy and sorrow.

“In these difficult and painful moments for Iran, Russia stands alongside the Iranian government and people,” he said.
