According to agreements reached with Mapna, it will develop Farour B gas field and will use the natural gas of the field for production of electricity. By using 15 million cubic meter of gas of the Farour B gas field, MAPNA will produce 3,000 megawatts of electricity in the first phase and by using 30 million cubic meters of its gas in the second phase it will produce 6,000 megawatts of electricity, he said adding that the produced electricity will be used for domestic consumption.
Zirakchianzadeh said that on the basis of the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan, NIOOC is to produce 90 billion cubic feet of gas per day which will be materialized if the necessary investment is made on time.
He also said that several agreements have been concluded to develop the oil and gas fields of the Persian Gulf. The total value of these agreements stands at 20 billion dollars, he said.
The Persian Gulf currently is capable of producing 84.0 trillion cubic feet of gas and 94 billion barrels of oil, of which only 7.1 billion barrels have been produced thus far, he said adding that the daily oil production of the Persian Gulf oil fields will increase by 30,000 barrels per day compared to the previous year.
Zirakchianzadeh added that Iran has 14 joint oil and gas fields which it shares with its neighbors in the Persian Gulf and up to the end of the Fifth Five Year Development Plan up to 2015 eight billion dollars will be invested in these fields.
The main thrust of the National Iranian Offshore Oil Company (NIOOC) is negotiations with other companies for production of gas from Persian Gulf fields, he said.
Referring to other activities of his company, Zirakchianzadeh said that construction of petrochemical complex and development of Bilal gas Field with cooperation of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company and Bank Saderat Iran (BSI) as well as transforming the associated gas and natural gas of the Lavan region to electricity with the cooperation of Mapna Company are among the other activities of his company.
Alluding to the current production of Hengam field, he said some 16,000 barrels of oil are produced from this field every day. With the completion of the third well which is being drilled the figure will stand at 25,000 barrels per day he said adding by drilling of the fourth well it will be 30,000 barrels per day.
NIOOC’S managing director announced that negotiations have been going on since years ago for joint production from the joint oil fields in the Persian Gulf.
One of these joint oil fields is Arash which is commonly owned by Iran and Kuwait. Simultaneous with the negotiations the jackets of this field are being constructed, he said adding that they will be installed in 2012.
The plan for development of the Esfandyar oil field is ready, he said adding that thus far three applicants have announced their readiness for development of this field. The development will be undertaken within the next six months with one of the applicants.

Since this was registered with one of UN environmental agencies, the first award for the collection of this gas whose value is 6.5 million dollars will be given to Iran soon.
