TEHRAN April 15 (Shana): The efforts of the experts of North Drilling Company have brought the international sanctions in the field of drilling to their knees, Managing Director of the company said referring to the achievements of the company which are being displayed at the 16th Oil Exhibition in Terhan.

Talking to Shana reporter, Hedayatollah Khademi said despite extensive sanctions, the North Drilling Company has succeeded in offering technical and other services in the field of drilling which includes cement work, acid works, indirect drilling, sampling from the wells, services related to output of pipes, services related to rotating instruments, soil and cement engineering and management of services of drilling wastes for the Caspian Oil Company, Central Regions Oil Company and Offshore  Oil Company inside the country and also offering some services to oil companies in Turkmenistan.

He added that his company proudly fulfils some major needs of oil industry which requires complicated drilling of oil, gas, water and geothermal wells for exploration, description, development, repair, renovation and technical services related to the onshore and offshore (deep and semi deep waters) wells.
 
Khademi said that export of services and strong presence in international energy scene is one of the main goals of his company. Hence, he added, the North Drilling Rig was transferred to Turkmenistan Caspian Sea waters in 2005 and achieved its goal.

Referring to the Iranian Amir Kabir submersible advanced drilling rig which started drilling in the Caspian Sea deep waters, he said, drilling the deep water was carried out in the Middle East for the first time by his company and is monopoly of the company.

Dwelling on the most important projects of North Drilling Company, the Managing Director said, his company without being adversely affected by the international sanctions has tried to solve the problems and march ahead. Hence the company has some projects on its agenda such as purchasing two Jack Up, one onshore drilling rig (2000 horse power) and establishment of an operation workshop base in suburb of Tehran. 

Currently North Drilling Company owns an offshore drilling system which directs the Amir Kabir semi-floating drilling rig, two floating rigs of Behshahr and Iran Kasma with 2200 horse power, Caspian rigs 1 & 2, with a capacity of 16000 hp, eight advanced onshore drilling rigs called NDC 110, NDC 111, NDC 112, NDC 113, NDC 114, NDC 115, NDC 116, NDC 117 and four cement truck pumps. He added that the company is in charge of drilling operation for exploration, production and utilization of oil and gas reserves, their repair, digging of injection wells and offering related services inside and outside the country. 

Referring to the history of North Drilling Company, Khademi said, the company was established in January 1998 on the approval of the Managerial Board of  the National Iranian Oil Company as an upstream company affiliated to National Iranian Oil Company. From 2002, it launched its activities based on modern technology and knowledge to grasp competitive opportunities in the region and continental shelf.
