Paknejad, who heads the Iranian side of the commission, said the session, scheduled for Monday through Wednesday (Feb. 16-18), will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple economic sectors.
He said a preparatory coordination meeting was held Monday (Feb. 9), attended by deputies and representatives of relevant executive bodies. During that session, participants reviewed the latest status of bilateral cooperation, assessed progress on previous resolutions, and finalized institutional priorities and proposals for the upcoming talks.
Paknejad emphasized the importance of cohesive action by all participating agencies to help achieve shared objectives and accelerate priority projects.
Strengthening Iran-Russia Ties
Paknejad said priority projects and agreements in trade, energy, transportation, finance and banking, peaceful nuclear energy, health care, and other economic sectors will be examined and drafted during expert-level meetings on Feb. 16 and 17. Final cooperation documents are expected to be signed Feb. 18.
Referring to regional and international developments, Paknejad said stronger Iran-Russia economic cooperation can play an effective role in enhancing the economic capabilities of both countries and fostering an order based on mutual interests.
He added that, given coordination among executive bodies, a clear division of responsibilities, and sustained follow-up by the commission’s secretariat, the 19th meeting is expected to result in the signing of significant cooperation agreements and mark a new chapter in Tehran-Moscow economic relations.
