Gholamabbas Hosseini, outlining the complex’s key achievements since the start of the 14th administration, said that during this period more than 310 billion cubic meters of sour gas were received from offshore platforms. After processing, more than 301 billion cubic meters of sweet gas were delivered to the country’s main gas pipelines — a figure that underscores South Pars’ critical role in ensuring stable energy supply.
Referring to the complex’s strategic focus on self-sufficiency and support for domestic production, he added that more than 14,000 locally manufactured items were used at South Pars refineries over the same period. The figure represents an 11% increase compared with the corresponding period last year, reflecting confidence in new technology-based firms (NTBFs) and domestic manufacturers.
Key Role in the Value Chain
Hosseini also cited other production indicators, saying that since the beginning of the 14th administration, 2.9 million tons of ethane have been supplied to regional petrochemical plants. In addition, more than 6 million tons of propane, 4.2 million tons of butane and about 850,000 tons of granulated sulfur were produced at South Pars refineries.
He stressed the importance of major overhauls and production stability, noting that timely maintenance, maximum use of domestic expertise and smart process management resulted in the production of more than 355 million barrels of gas condensates at the complex’s refineries.
