Oil Production of 435 mln Barrels in Naft Sefid Oilfield

AHWAZ (PIN) – Naft Sefid oilfield produced 435 million barrels of oil and 100 billion cubic meters of gas from its birthday till March 20, 2009, new results showed.

According to PIN, Naft Sefid oilfield is located the 65 km north east of Ahwaz in the Khuzestan province, being considered as one of Iran's oldest oilfields.

The first oil was discovered in 1938 but the first drilling was in 1945.

On this basis, Naft Sefid Oilfield Function and Prospect Seminar was held in National Iranian South Oilfield Company on Sturday June 20, in presence of officials and experts.

The conference aimed to review the Naft Sefid Asmari reservoir operations and its related issues.

A senior oil reservoir engineering expert, Behzad Chehrehnema, said that the Naft Sefid oilfield is a carbonate reservoir which currently product 18,000 bpd with 16 wells on average.
