Javad Hosseini-Kia said Sunday at the unveiling and signing ceremony that energy is one of the country’s main concerns. “I believe cheap gas and electricity should give way to efficiency,” he said. “What the National Gas Company implemented today marks the beginning of a major move toward energy optimization.”
Hosseini-Kia added that significant measures have already been taken to optimize energy use and stressed that energy should not be wasted. “Unlike the past, the goal is no longer simply to deliver gas to every corner of the country. We need to be able to convert gas into electricity and provide electricity instead of gas to consumers,” he said.
He also said the National Iranian Gas Company has taken a major step in directing financial resources toward efficiency, which deserves recognition. “This is a success worth congratulating,” he said, noting that even during the recent 12-day conflict, the company maintained uninterrupted gas supply to the public.
