According to POGC, CEO Touraj Dehqani made the remarks Saturday during a meeting of the company’s management council, marking the 27th anniversary of the company’s establishment. He said South Pars has set a new production record as part of a step-by-step increase in rich gas output under the current administration, crediting collective efforts across the company, particularly workers on South Pars offshore platforms.
Dehqani said production capacity has risen by about 7 million cubic meters over the past month and that detailed plans are in place to add further capacity in the coming weeks. He said creating new, sustainable capacity and maximizing output from South Pars—while advancing development in other fields—reflects the company’s broader drive to strengthen the oil industry.
He cited the start of drilling at the Belal gas field, the launch of executive work on the North Pars field following the signing of a jacket construction contract, preparations for developing the Farzad B field with its jacket nearing loadout and installation, accelerated development of Phase 11 with a 100% increase in output, the commissioning of four infill wells, more than doubling the number of active drilling rigs, and planning to determine the future of the Kish gas field. He said the results stem from clear priorities, optimal resource allocation, and close cooperation among managers, specialists and staff.
Dehqani also thanked the oil minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company for their support, saying the country’s current conditions—including investment constraints and energy imbalances—have increased the oil industry’s responsibilities and require maximum effort to sustain production and development.
He emphasized the importance of valuing human capital, saying even the most valuable physical assets cannot generate added value without human creativity and expertise, underscoring the critical role of managers and employees and the need to safeguard this key asset.
