According to the company, CEO Peyman Imani made the remarks Tuesday at a ceremony marking Research Week, saying scientific, technological and innovative activities receive comprehensive backing at the company.
He highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in advancing and completing research projects, adding that the company’s Research and Technology Department supports creative ideas and research initiatives that generate knowledge and identify new solutions to remove bottlenecks, streamline processes and speed up sustainable production in the oil industry.
Research paired with technology creates value
At the event, Mahdia Motahhari, head of research and technology at the National Iranian Oil Co., described field technology pilots as the department’s main strategy. He said the goal is to guide research-based topics through technology development and field implementation, noting that research creates added value only when aligned with and supported by technology.
Motahhari also stressed the importance of accelerating processes and using up-to-date knowledge and artificial intelligence to achieve new advances in the oil industry, saying such approaches lead to better decisions that support sustainable energy production and supply.
The ceremony also included the official unveiling of the Petro Wrench database software, designed, completed and deployed by reservoir engineering systems specialists at the Iran Central Oil Fields Co.’s Technical Management. In addition, 27 top researchers from the company’s headquarters and the South Zagros, West and East oil and gas operating companies were honored.
