The well will be drilled on the northern portion of the block and will reach the sandstones at 14,150 ft. Antrim wants to explore between the recently completed 211/22a-6 well, which tested at 6,300 b/d of oil, and Antrim"s 2006 discovery well 211/23d-17z, which tested at 14,500 b/d.
The fourth originally well was scheduled for 2008 as part of a larger development program that included drilling several water injection wells for pressure maintenance.
Antrim has started drilling appraisal well 211/22a-8 for the West Causeway fault compartment where oil was discovered in 1984 with well 211/22a-3, testing up to 5,500 b/d of oil from Ness sandstones.
Drilling is ahead of schedule and under budget to complete the project, Antrim said.
