Arrangements in place to ensure stable winter fuel supply

SHANA (Tehran) – The oil minister said the country’s oil industry is fully prepared to navigate the cold season, adding that the necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a stable supply of winter fuel and that there is no cause for concern.

Mohsen Paknejad said at a meeting reviewing winter fuel supply plans that, drawing on past experience and the need for smart energy resource management, ensuring a reliable supply of gas and petroleum products during winter is a top priority for the Oil Ministry. He said preventive and operational measures have been underway for months to boost infrastructure readiness, strengthen fuel reserves and enhance coordination across relevant sectors.

Paknejad said fuel production, transmission and distribution are being monitored continuously. He added that, thanks to the efforts of the ministry’s subsidiary companies, fuel oil reserves for power plants are in good condition, and deliveries to power plants are proceeding on schedule and even exceeding forecasts—an important factor in maintaining the stability of the national power grid during colder months.

He also praised oil industry workers nationwide, saying employees across production, refining, transmission and distribution are working around the clock with a strong sense of responsibility to meet public energy needs. Their efforts, he said, have increased confidence in the reliability of winter fuel supplies.

Paknejad noted close coordination between the Oil Ministry and other government bodies, including the Energy Ministry and related organizations. He said this cooperation has improved the management of consumption, fuel supply to power plants and responses to winter demand peaks.

He emphasized that the 14th administration’s Oil Ministry views ensuring energy stability as a strategic responsibility and is committed to achieving it through sound planning, demand management and maximum use of available capacity, so the public can get through the winter safely and without worry.
