TEHRAN – Managing director of National Iranian Central Oil Company noted that Homa, Varavi, and Shanol gas fields will start producing 35.7 million cu. m. gas per day as of next month.

Alireza Zighami told Petroenergy Information Network that Parsian 2 refinery is going through pre-commissioning and will be launched next month. The official noted that the first phase of developing the gas fields will be operational by November 6 and includes drilling 31 wells. The official stated that Homa, Varavi and Shanol gas fields will be connected to cross-country gas network next month after pre-commissioning and commissioning operations are complete. Varavi, Shanol and Homa gas fields are being developed through drilling four repair and 27 developmental wells. The fields are expected to produce 37.5 million cu. m. sweet gas per day including 15 million cu. m. by Shanol, 7 million cu. m. by Varavi and 15.5 million cu. m. by Homa. The fields will also yield 14,420 barrels gas condensate per day. The gas from three fields will feed the second phase of Parsian refinery while its first phase will be fed by Tabnak gas field. 679.8 million dollars as well as 1,325 billion rials have been allocated to development of Varavi, Homa and Shanol gas fields.
