Installation of downhole pump completed at South Yaran Oil Field

SHANA (Tehran) – The installation of an electric submersible pump (ESP) in one of the wells at the South Yaran oil field development project has been successfully completed by the field’s engineers and technical staff.

According to the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), the ESP installation was carried out using Persia Truck-Mounted Rig 501, in full compliance with safety regulations and the approved schedule. The operation was completed through close coordination among technical, service, and safety units.

Following the installation, preparations began to dismantle and relocate the rig to the next well as part of the ongoing ESP installation program. The relocation is scheduled to take place in the coming days.

Persia Rig 501, known for its speed, mobility, and efficiency, is considered one of the leading units in the operational fleet. Its quick setup and readiness capabilities play a key role in improving productivity, minimizing well downtime, and accelerating maintenance and production enhancement projects.

Technical experts involved in the Yaran development project say that the use of truck-mounted rigs, especially in areas with challenging terrain, significantly reduces both costs and operation time. They note that the continuous ESP installation program in selected wells not only enhances production stability but also improves the wells’ efficiency index.

In recent months, Persia Rig 501 has successfully completed three similar operations, resulting in an estimated increase of about 2,000 barrels per day in oil production from those wells.
