“As we approach the cold season, the issue of saving gas consumption becomes more important,” Mohajerani stated. “Since power plants currently run on both natural gas and diesel, the need for fuel conservation is doubled.”

She added that government efforts to expand the use of solar energy during the summer helped ease part of the imbalance. “The current situation of fuel for power plants has improved, but this does not mean the imbalance has been fully resolved,” she said.

Mohajerani stressed that conservation remains essential to ensure the country gets through the coming winter.
