NIOC says oil sales continue through diverse methods

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran continues to sell and export oil through a range of methods in line with national policies, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company said, rejecting speculation about changes in the country’s sales strategy.

“We see no need to respond to every rumor, because our focus is on our main responsibilities,” Hamid Bovard said, according to the company’s website.

Responding to claims that Iran had altered its oil sales approach, Bovard said the company employs diverse methods to sell oil, in line with Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s emphasis on “variety and multiplicity” in sales strategies and markets. “Suggestions that this approach has caused losses are incorrect, and I categorically deny them,” he said.

He added that representatives of the Iranian nation in the oil industry are working tirelessly, and colleagues have managed to advance the country’s oil sales effectively despite challenges.

“We don’t see it necessary to answer every rumor, because our focus is on carrying out our main duties,” Bovard said, adding that with continued efforts by the oil industry, the country’s economy will remain supported.

Previously, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad told reporters that Iran’s oil sales have never stopped and continue strongly, despite fluctuations. He stressed that no unsold shipments remain at sea.
