Abdolrahman Salehi, head of production coordination and supervision at the complex, said the final testing of the sour gas transfer line from the 11th to the 12th refinery was successfully completed.

“The operational testing of the transfer line on Aug. 6 involved technical teams, engineers, and staff from the 11th and 12th refineries as well as the engineering headquarters,” Salehi said. “This milestone enhances operational performance, flexibility, and production capacity in one of the world’s largest and most strategic gas fields.”

Salehi emphasized the project’s significance, noting that the successful operation increased the 12th refinery’s daily sweet gas production by 6 million cubic meters. He added that the move will support sustainable gas supply during winter and optimize domestic gas resources.

The project also improves management of surplus feed from the 11th refinery during emergency shutdowns and major maintenance, ensuring efficient use of the 12th refinery’s capacity in critical situations.

“This initiative is a major step in strengthening energy security and industrial infrastructure, playing a key role in sustaining natural gas supply nationwide,” Salehi said.
