SPGC’s role in strengthening national power grid

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of South Pars Gas Complex announced that the Besat Power Plant, part of the complex, has been steadily generating electricity. In addition to supplying energy to 13 refineries, it feeds surplus power into the grid of four neighboring counties, playing a key role in reinforcing the regional power network.

According to the South Pars Gas Complex, Gholamabbas Hosseini made the remarks during a meeting with the governor of Jam County on Sunday.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation between the complex and the local government, he said, “Our top priority is addressing Jam County’s critical infrastructure challenges. Through collaboration and teamwork, we can resolve many of these issues.”

Hosseini noted that the Besat Power Plant not only powers 13 refineries but also supplies excess electricity to four nearby counties, significantly bolstering the regional grid. He added, “The complex is fully prepared to assist in rehabilitating Jam County’s water infrastructure, and we hope these efforts will improve residents’ quality of life.”

Masoud Tangestani, the governor of Jam County, thanked the South Pars Gas Complex for its efforts, calling it a cornerstone of the national economy. “Its stable gas production has brought national pride,” he said, adding, “The well-being of its employees is crucial to their successful performance.”

Tangestani noted the positive relationship between the residential compounds for workers and local communities, expressing hope for continued cultural collaboration and joint programs to further foster unity and sustainable development.
