Iran’s Region 8 gas transmission surpasses 32 bcm

SHANA (Tehran) – The director of Iran’s Region 8 gas transmission operations reported that over 32 billion cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas were transferred from the region in the past year (1403 in the Persian calendar), citing public participation as a key factor in maintaining the transmission network’s stability.

Mehdi Zare noted that media campaigns and public initiatives encouraging lower room temperatures and adherence to comfort-level thermostat settings significantly contributed to the network’s reliability. “I am delighted that, through necessary measures and the collaboration of our staff, we successfully fulfilled our mission of clean, safe, stable and efficient natural gas transmission, ensuring comfort for our fellow citizens,” he said.

He added that gas transmission workers, despite their critical role, remain unsung heroes, working tirelessly under challenging conditions to secure the country’s energy supply. “We must appreciate their efforts and ensure their voices are heard, recognizing the true value of their work,” Zare emphasized.

Referring to the year’s slogan—declared by the Supreme Leader as the “Year of Investment for Production”—he expressed hope that by supporting domestic producers and serving the public effectively, they could help realize this vision.
