Nasrollah Zarei, CEO of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, emphasized during the meeting that Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has designated the current Iranian year (1404) as the "Year of Investment for Production." He stated, "As representatives of the Islamic Republic, it is our duty to work diligently from the beginning of the year to realize this slogan."
He added that the integrated development plan for Azadegan field is one of the largest projects of the National Iranian Oil Company this year, encompassing the second phase of North Azadegan and the second phase of South Azadegan.
Stressing the project's importance, Zarei said that key decisions will be expedited by inviting core board members to the Joint Management Committee (JMC) meetings.
He also highlighted the need to leverage experience from implemented IPC contracts, maximize the use of completed studies and operational work, and hold biweekly coordination meetings until the project’s structure and execution process are established.
Noting the shared nature of Azadegan field, Zarei emphasized streamlining processes, enhancing executive efficiency, and prioritizing environmental protection—particularly in the ecologically sensitive Hor al-Azim region. He also expressed his company’s readiness for constructive collaboration with the contractor.
Hossein Zanganeh, CEO of Arvand Oil and Gas Development Company, stated that there is strong familiarity with Azadegan field, calling it a "national, profitable, and robust project." He noted that the primary investors in the contracting company are mainly domestic banks.
Referring to the company’s dual responsibility, Zanganeh said, "Our approach to the Azadegan project is national in scope. Alongside safeguarding investments and delivering shareholder profits, we also bear a national mission, striving to balance these two critical priorities."
Preliminary measures for project launch, operational plans, objectives, priorities, challenges, and proposed solutions were discussed during the meeting.
