Pezeshkian Defends Budget Bill

SHANA (Tehran) -Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, today defended the main points of the budget bill for the year 1404 (beginning March 21, 2025) during a session of Parliament, stating that we can address existing imbalances through collaboration and coordination.

He expressed gratitude for the support, empathy, and cooperation of the members of Parliament regarding the budget, noting that despite all challenges, the budget was submitted to Parliament on time.

He also described the proposed budget as transparent, with clear figures regarding revenues and expenditures. Pezeshkian asserted that the presented budget is realistic, highlighting that it reflects actual revenues and what can be spent. He pointed out that efforts have been made to establish stability and avoid constantly changing laws.

The President acknowledged that there are imbalances in water, electricity, and natural gas, adding that solving these issues requires scientific studies, expertise, and coordination. He stressed the importance of considering vulnerable groups in all economic considerations to prevent problems for them but acknowledged that intervention is necessary.

Pezeshkian indicated that ignoring these imbalances would lead to problems, stating it is unacceptable to cut off electricity and water to producers.

"The budget for the upcoming year is defined within the framework of the law and the overarching policies of the system," he said, expressing hope that through collaboration, the country could head the current conditions with strength, dignity, and honor.
