Hassan Mousavi noted that on Monday (March 3), 867 mcm of natural gas were produced and supplied to the national grid. He stated that 78% of the total natural gas delivered to the grid was allocated to the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors.
Referring to the persistent cold weather across most provinces of the country, Mousavi emphasized that gas consumption in the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors increased by 10% compared to the same day last year.
The spokesperson added that 677 mcm of the total natural gas supplied to the national grid were consumed by the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors.
Following the cold snap and forecasts of further temperature drops, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and several other officials urged the public to participate in the "2 Degrees Less" campaign. Through video and written messages, they called for optimal energy use and cooperation in ensuring winter fuel supply.
