
TEHRAN – Due to todays earthquake in Zarand region of Kerman province, Zarand power plant has stopped power generation.
Managing director of Kerman Regional Electricity Company, Hossein Abdolkhaleq-zadeh, noted that the power plant is not probable to resume power generation in near future.
He told Petroenergy Information Network that during the time that the power plant is being overhauled, the regions electricity should be supplied by cross-country power grid.
The power plant had produced more than 85 million kWh of electricity during past three months.
Zarand power plant enjoys two 30-MW units and can produce 30 million kWh of electricity per month.
