Talking to reporters about the development of South Pars Phase 11 on the sidelines of the second day of the 26th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Mohammadreza Zahiri added, “We will witness pressure drop in all phases of South Pars field in the coming years.”

The IOEC CEO, however, refuted his predecessor’s claim about the amount of pressure drop, saying this issue and the problems facing construction of pressure booster platforms had been exaggerated.

Given the country’s skilled human resources and modern equipment, construction of pressure booster platforms for the South Pars field is a real possibility, assured Zahiri, adding an accurate design of their pillars is one of the challenges facing the experts, as superheavy facilities are installed on the platforms.

According to him, the country’s universities are closely cooperating with the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company in building the platforms.

There is no problem regarding the design, construction, transportation, and installation of pressure booster platforms, reiterated the IOEC CEO, explaining that the precise design of the jacket takes time, as the accurate weight of equipment installed on a platform should be calculated.

Zahiri said the experts are seeking to reduce the weight of these platforms by producing modern designs.   

Dubbed Iran Oil Show 2022, the 26th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition kicked off at Tehran’s Permanent Fairground on Friday and will run through May 16.

The four-day exhibition is host to 1,200 Iranian and 44 foreign companies or their agents.

Apart from domestic participants representing Iran, foreign companies are from Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, South Africa, and Belgium.
