POGC Ready for Maximum Gas Production at South Pars

TEHRAN (Shana) – The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) voiced its full readiness for maximum gas production during winter.

According to POGC, speaking about the company's plans in development and production, Mohammadi Meshkinfam underlined end of the overhaul of South Pars rigs, and announced full readiness for daily gas production of 700 million cubic meters in the winter.

During his weekly visit to the ongoing projects of the company, Mr. Meshkinfam stated that the pre-determined plans in both development and production sectors are being rigorously pursued, adding: “We are fully prepared to produce gas from 37 platforms in South Pars at the rate of 700 million cubic meters per day.”

He said production from the first train of gas purification unit of South Pars Refinery Phase 14 is the first priority of a series of ongoing POGC projects.

Meshkinfam further noted the almost-complete project of the gas condensate pipeline of the South Pars site to the Pars 1 region as one of the most important ongoing POGC plans, and said: "With the completion of this project, gas condensate of the South Pars refineries will be transferred by a pipeline with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per hour to Site 1 and the gas condensate storage facility in the area.”

He said the projects entails about 60 km of a 32-inch pipeline and a pumping station, and it will hopefully come on stream by early December.

Meshkinfam went on to add that export of liquefied natural gas from Export Jetty No. 2 of POGC and sulfur from Siraf Pars port will be realized by March 2022.

He announced the possibility of storing the sulfur produced by Pars 2 refineries in the first sulfur storage silo of Siraf Pars port with a capacity of 43,000 tons by early December, and said: “The export of this product will be realized by late March 2022.”

The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company also touched on a combined-cycle power plant being launched by POGC in Pars 1 Site: "All executive activities of the first block of this power plant have been completed and the remaining activities, including inspections and tests of this block, are being carried out by the developers."

Regarding the latest status of the South Pars Phase 2 and 3 gas condensate demercaptanization project, he said: "The executive activities of this project have progressed well and we are waiting for this unit to come online next week with the delivery of gas condensate from the refinery operator for treatment."
