Addressing a virtual ceremony to officially launch the project in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday, Mr. Zangeneh said the project is currently operating at 300,000 b/d of crude oil transfer capacity which will reach 400,000 barrels/day by October, 500,000 b/d by December, 750,000 b/d by January and one million barrels per day by March 2022.
Zangeneh stressed that in all parts of the Goreh-Jask pipeline project, all the requirements of national and international standards, including IPS, API and ASME standards, had been met, adding: "This project is a unique manifestation of smashing the sanctions and relying on domestic capabilities."
Zangeneh further expressed optimism that this project would be the most basic project for the economic development of Makran region and the key to economic development of the region, adding: “The permits to implement 3 refinery projects with a capacity of 900,000 barrels of crude oil per day in this region have been issued and these plants are being built. Furthermore, a BOT project to build 10-million-barrel crude-oil-storage tanks with an investment of more than $230 million by the private sector is under way in the region.”
