Offshore Pipe-Laying Operations of Jask Oil Terminal Kicks Off

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The head of Jask Oil Terminal Development Project announced the start of the offshore pipeline operations of the early production phase of the project.

According to Pars Oil and Gas Company, Vahid Maliki, on the sidelines of the offshore pipe-laying operation of the project, said: "With favorable weather conditions and initial preparations made in recent days, shore pulling operation leading to the first single buoy mooring of the Jask oil terminal, 2.5 km long, was launched in the wee small hours of Tuesday, January 19 by the C master pipe layer.”

He called implementation of this operation the first part of the offshore development of Jask Oil Terminal, and added the offshore section of the early-production phase of the project will be completed with the construction of two 36-inch offshore pipelines with a length of approximately 12 km and a single buoy mooring with ancillary equipment.

The head of Jask Oil Terminal Development Project stated that the early-production phase of Jask Oil Terminal Development Project is 70% complete, and said the project is expected to come online by late March.

The official added that the project would create 1,200 direct jobs.

The export terminal is being constructed as the last piece of a national and strategic scheme to diversity Iran’s export terminals and reducing its dependency on the Strait of Hormuz.

the terminal is to be fed by Goreh-Jask oil pipeline.
