IOOC Eyes Improved Productivity at Forouzan Field

TEHRAN (Shana) – An official with the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) said measures had been taken at Forouzan offshore oil field which would enhance its productivity.

According to Mashal Weekly, Mohammad Hossein Karimiha, who is IOOC’s director of installation, said with the installation of a new residential platform in Forouzan Field, a drilling rig could be placed next to the drilling platform, and thus by creating the ability to repair and drill on site, the joint field’s production would increase.

Forouzan's previous residential platform needed to be replaced 12 years ago due to wear and tear, and therefore a new residential platform was built to be installed on the bases of the previous platform.

This new residential platform was built in 2012 and in 2015, after its construction, according to the previous platform, it was separated from the relevant jacket, but due to the age of its base structure and the weight of the new platform, it was not possible to install a new residential platform on the previous platform.

The new Forouzan residential platform weighs 680 tons. It has 4 floors and has 16 rooms with dimensions of 20 by 14 meters.

According to the Karimiha, it was built in accordance with the world standards and with suitable quality. Like other residential platforms, it has a control room, restaurant, billiard room, club, and bathrooms, among other amenities needed for its residents.
