Sufur Sales of Ilam Refinery 30% Up in H1

TEHRAN (Shana) – The CEO of Ialm Gas Refinery said the plant’s sulfur sales grew by 30 percent in the first half of the current calendar year, which began on March 21.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Roohollah Nourian said: “The sulfur produced by this complex is used in domestic industries, which creates value added and jobs.”

The main consumers of sulfur are petrochemical industries, acid producers, research centers and fertilizer producers, he said.

The CEO of Ilam Gas Refining Company stated sulfur production in the first 6 months of this year has increased by about 30% in terms of value and about 100% in terms of weight compared to the same period last year.

Nourian also said: "This product is currently sold mainly in cash, and the long-term sales in installments is being considered and implemented using the capacity of the law to remove barriers to production in order to support the private sector."

The official said the sulfur produced by his company was offered with a purity of 99.99% which is the purest sulfur produced in the country.
