Members of the committee visited damaged South Pars facilities during a trip to Bushehr province and were briefed on the latest steps taken to offset the production decline.
Referring to the damage to South Pars installations during the war, Mohammad Amir said four phases of the field had been knocked out of production. During the visit, he said, it became clear that Iranian young people had demonstrated their capabilities and that a significant portion of the shortfall had been made up.
He said officials briefed the delegation in a meeting on the measures taken to offset the decline in gas output, and that the measures were generally considered acceptable.
South Pars supplies much of the country's gas, and damage to its facilities could affect production and supply, particularly in the cold months. After the four phases were damaged in the war, restoring production capacity and making up the shortfall became a priority.
