IOOC Localizes Wellhead Reducers for SPOL

TEHRAN (Shana) – The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has successfully indigenized the technical savvy for production of wellhead reducer to be used in South Pars Oil Layer (SPOL).

The item was designed and built by the efforts of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company's specialized forces, utilizing the capabilities of qualified contractors in Kish Island.

According to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), IOOC experts in collaboration with Iranian industrialists have succeeded in designing and manufacturing SPOL wellhead reducers.

The design and fabrication process started using reverse engineering at a cost of IRR3.2 billion (for seven sets) without technical and alloy data of the items. After completing of the process, the prototype was installed in Well No. 7 of SPOL and its performance flaws were removed.

Construction of the item costs the country 5% of its imported rivals.
