“Based on the information received, the attack on the Iranian oil tanker was carried out by one or more governments,” Mohammadi Javad Zarif said, ICANA reported.
SABITI, an Iranian oil tanker owned by NITC, was hit by two blasts at 5 and 5:20 a.m. local time 60 miles off Jeddah Port, Saudi Arabia on Friday.
The blasts damaged the ship on its main storeroom.
NITC has said the blasts were probably caused by missile strikes on the Iranian vessel.
Mohammad Javad Zarif said investigations were ongoing, but until definitive conclusions are reached, Iran would not accuse any governments.
However, he said the strike was a sophisticated, government-sponsored action.
