Qasem Kassayian, a researcher at Sarv knowledge-based company, said that indigenization of the item began in 2013 by his company, adding that the catalyst was used in olefin units for production of ethylene.

Addressing the 16^th National Congress of Chemical Engineering, Kassayian said the catalyst, which is a strategic product under the sanctions, was commercialized with the support of Morvarid Petrochemicals Company.

He further said the catalyst was being consumed in a pilot plant at MPC and its performance was monitored by domestic experts.
