PUT, IFP, NISOC Discuss Energy Ties

TEHRAN, July 19 (Shana) -- Representatives of the Petroleum University of Technology (PUT), the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) and the French energy giant IFP are meeting in the southwestern city of Ahwaz on Tuesday to discuss technological development of an oil field in Iran.

Abdolnabi Hashemi, PUT's chancellor, told Shana that the meeting is being held in assessment of technological cooperation to development of Gachsaran oilfield in southwestern Iran.

The meeting is being held at PUT in the city of Ahwaz, southwestern Iran.

He said technical issues regarding technological development of the field will be discussed and the preliminaries for signing a deal between PUT and the IFP will be considered. 

The Iranian Ministry of Petroleum has handed over technological development of 9 oil fields to Iranian universities including the PUT which has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IFP for carrying out studies on the field.
