Addressing the people of the western province of Kermanshah, Rouhani said Iran produced only 2 ml/d of the strategic commodity under the preceding administration which has been increased to 25 ml/d under his administration.
Over the past two years, certain measures have been undertaken to improve the quality of distributed fuel, particularly gasoline, at gas stations. This problem has partly been resolved and one reason behind the higher number of clean days in the country is the focus on gasoline consumption by vehicles.
Recently, with the startup of gasoline production project at Isfahan Refinery in central Iran, euro-4 gasoline production has soared from 19 ml/d to 24 ml/d. Other achievements of gasoline production project at this refinery have been the increase in gasoline production capacity from 10 ml/d to 12 ml/d, improvement in the quality of 8.5 ml/d of ordinary gasoline in conformity with euro-4 standards and the indigenization of catalyst used in the isomerization unit.
In March, Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Abbas Kazemi said that production of the country’s Euro-4 gasoline will increase to 35 million liters a day to include half of the output.
Abbas Kazemi told Shana on the sidelines of the International Environment Exhibition on Wednesday that NIORC is committed to produce environment-friendly products.
“Currently, we produce 24 million liters of Euro-4 gasoline a day which is about 40 percent of the output. We hope to increase it to 29 million liters in coming months and to 35 million liters by summer after launching the Bandar Abbas refinery,” he added.
The post-sanctions period will help the industry to follow up its qualitative and quantitative development plans, said Kazemi.
