Iran to Boost Oil Recovery from Southern Oil Fields

TEHRAN, April 13 (Shana) –- Managing Director of National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said the company is planning to boost production of crude oil during the current calendar year which began on March 20.

Bijan Alipour told Shana that the company lessened the tasked reduction of its output for the previous calendar year and is planning to produce oil at full capacity during the current year.

"We will boost our production immediately after National Iranian Oil Company orders us to do so," he added. 

He said NISOC has prioritized projects which are focused on enhancing production and, quality and capacity of the recovered oil, adding that inauguration of desalination units in Ragsefid I and Gachsaran 3 oil fields are top on NISOC's agenda.

NISOC is Iran's biggest supplier of crude oil by producing over 2.75 million barrels per day.

The company is also planned to boost its output to 3 mbd by mid-June.
