NIORDC Ready to Supply Euro-4 or 5 Gasoil Nationwide

TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (Shana) -- Managing-Director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company Abbas Kazemi said the company is prepared to supply euro-4 or euro-5 gasoil to all the country's fuel stations.

The official said NIORDC is prepared to supply high quality gasoil to cars provided that auto-makers manufacture engines that run on the fuel.

Kazemi's remarks came as Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh voiced his ministry's last week remarks in support for gasoil-based cars and buses in Iran.

The NIORDC chief further said a gasoil-based engine for cars is being designed and manufactured which will be ready for Iranian market no longer than a year later.

"We are ready to supply gasoil and LPG for cars in fuel stations, and we will start offering supplies in stations as soon as they become economically justifiable," Kazemi added.

In 2006 Iran developed EF7 gas-based engine for cars with assistance from Germany's FEV Company.
