Iran Ready to Add 500K Barrels to Oil Exports

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (Shana) – Iran's deputy petroleum minister in international affairs and trading said Iran is ready to raise its crude oil exports by half a million barrels a day now that the US-engineered sanctions are lifted on Tehran's nuclear program.

Addressing a ceremony on Sunday held to mark the 60th anniversary of formation of the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), Amir-Hossein Zamaninia said, "Iran is ready to add 500,000 barrels to its crude oil exports in lieu of the current oil market conditions."

He hailed NITC as the export arm of the country in the post-sanctions setting. "Iran is happy to have such major assets and fully supports NITC in international arenas."

He said NITC has been a successful company during the sanctions period in line with the provisions stipulated by the resistive economy.

He underlined sanctions removal, saying that "Today is a historic day for the country for which many efforts have been made over the course of the past years."
