Gas transmission regions seen as vital to winter energy supply

SHANA (Tehran) – The managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company said the gas industry faces major responsibilities this winter in ensuring reliable service, with much of that burden falling on the Iranian Gas Transmission Company and its regional offices.

According to a report from IGTC, Saeid Tavakoli made the remarks during a meeting with the leadership of Gas Transmission Operations Region 4. He thanked employees of the company, particularly those in Region 4, for their efforts and reiterated that the coming winter would place significant demands on the industry, with the transmission company and its regions playing a central role in meeting them.

Tavakoli pointed to Region 4's strategic location in northeastern Iran and its key role in supplying energy to Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, South Khorasan and Semnan provinces. He said a range of operational measures — including continuous monitoring of pipelines in cold-weather areas, coordination with other links in the regional and national energy chain to manage peak demand, and the deployment of rapid-response teams to critical sites — could help ensure a stable gas flow through the harshest winter conditions and provide comfort to residents in the region.

The NIGC managing director also expressed hope that, through the efforts and unity of oil and gas industry workers, the country would successfully navigate its current challenges.
