Fajr Jam Refinery Doubling Gas Intake from South Pars

TEHRAN June 09(Shana)--Fajr Jam refinery’s gas intake from South Pars gas field will double over the next three years hitting 50 mcm/d.

Speaking to Shana, managing director of Fajr Jam gas refinery Hadi Hashemzadeh Farhang said gas refining capacity of the country would rise from 189 bcm per year to 330 bcm per year of which Fajr Jam refinery will process 16.5 bcm.

Under a legislation by board of directors of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), South Pars gas field will replace Nar and Kangan as the main sources of supplying gas to Fajr Jam refinery.

He continued, "For the time being the refinery processes 25 mcm of sour and dry gas it takes from Nar and Kangan wells and South Pars gas field."

The refinery will consult engineers for details of taking gas from South Pars gas field and plans to implement the project in the form of EPC, he concluded.
