Yadavaran Pilot Program Progress at 80 Percent

TEHRAN May 19(Shana)--The pilot program of Yadavaran oil field is underway with 80 percent progress, senior official with Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) Mohammadreza Kamali said.

Speaking to Shana, Kamali said development of oilfields and enhancing recovery rate were among the priorities of RIPI.

As he said, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has reached deals with 9 academic and research centers on studying enhancing recovery rate including two large oil fields, Ahvaz and Yadavaran, that RIPI is in charge of their studies.

A good pilot program provides a platform for the organization to test logistics, prove value and reveal deficiencies before spending a significant amount of time, energy or money on a large-scale project.

Typically, a pilot program begins with a proposal that lists the objectives of the pilot program and documents how the program will be carried out.

The documentation should also provide a time-line for the pilot and metrics for how success will be determined

He added RIPI plans to develop its capabilities in exploration, production, drilling, reservoir studies, and scientific and laboratory services this year.
