Bandar Abbas Refinery Protects Environment

TEHRAN Feb 23(Shana)--Energy and waste management and continuous monitoring of air and water pollutants have enabled Bandar Abbas oil refinery to edge down pollution below standard levels.

Speaking on the sidelines of 14th International Conference of Environment, managing director of the refinery, Hashem Namvar said preserving environment is one of the main obligations of the refinery and that is why the refinery has undertaken plans which have targeted lessening air pollution.

Installation of measurement devices for continuous monitoring of pollutants, timely overhaul and creating 298 hectares of green space are among the initiatives Bandar Abbas oil refinery has taken to protect environment and bringing down the level of pollution.

14th international exhibition of environment with Green Economy, Resistive Economy motto is underway in Tehran International Permanent Fairgrounds.

In addition to domestic companies, 13 foreign companies from Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Sweden and France have taken part in the exhibition.

The 4-day event wraps up tomorrow. Displaying technical and engineering capabilities, getting familiar with environment management, encouraging people to participate in protecting environment, introducing some practical and scientific ways for preventing environment degradation, introducing renewables and green industries are among the main aims of holding the exhibition.
