Speaking Monday on the sidelines of the Oil Ministry's deputy ministers' meeting and the ceremony marking the transition of NPC leadership, Hassan Abbaszadeh thanked the oil minister for his confidence and industry executives for their support. He said his administration worked to return NPC to its specialized and sovereign role after the company had drifted away from its core governance responsibilities.
Abbaszadeh said the achievement was made possible through the backing of the oil minister and the efforts of managers and employees across Iran's petrochemical sector.
He described the drafting of NPC's new charter as one of the most significant accomplishments of his tenure. According to Abbaszadeh, the charter provides the legal framework and regulatory tools needed for NPC to oversee key areas such as petrochemical product market regulation and feedstock management. Once approved, he said, the charter will further strengthen the company's legal authority.
Referring to the petrochemical industry's performance during the recent war, Abbaszadeh said NPC maintained continuous coordination with petrochemical companies to ensure that critical decisions were made without interruption. He said this cooperation reinforced the company's role in managing crisis conditions.
Abbaszadeh also emphasized the importance of technical expertise in the petrochemical industry, urging professionals to continue strengthening their knowledge while acting as facilitators in cooperation with companies to build trust and support informed decision-making.
Concluding his remarks, Abbaszadeh thanked the oil minister, senior oil industry officials and petrochemical company executives for their support. He said the petrochemical industry remains one of Iran's most important economic sectors because of its contribution to employment, export revenues and the supply of essential products, adding that he would continue serving the country in any capacity if called upon.
