According to the data released by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), during the past 365 days, more than 3.77 billion liters of euro-4 gasoline was produced in the country, more than 8.2 million liters per day on average.
Production of euro-4 gasoline edged up from 1.568 million liters in July 2013 to 15.3 million liters in March 2014 showing the great efforts made since Prudence and Hope Administration took office in August 2013 to produce clean fuel by stepping up implementation of major gasoline projects.
Launching a number of refining projects including in Tabriz oil refinery and other oil refineries raised the volume of euro-4 gasoline to 22 million liters in April 2014.
NIOPDC’s figures show that during the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year since March 21 2014, euro-4 gasoline output increased 60 times reaching more than 310 million liters.
A number of mega cities of the country including Tehran, Karj, Arak and parts of Tabriz are using euro-4 gasoline now, and It is expected that distribution of clean gasoline to be extended to 8 mega cities of the country before the end of current year to March 2015.
Also completion of gasoline making project is expected to enable the NIOPDC to distribute euro-4 gasoline all over the country by 2016.
Currently, 16 million liters of euro-4 gasoline are being produced by Imam Khomeini oil refinery in Shazand and 2 million liters by Tabriz oil refinery on a daily basis. The total eruo-4 gasoline distribution stands at 28 million liters per day now including imported gasoline which make up 40 percent of daily gasoline consumption in the country.
