No Iran-Russia Oil Deal

TEHRAN August 8 (Shana)--An Iranian deputy petroleum minister has denied the signature of any oil-for-goods deal between Iran and Russia.

“Such news is devoid of accuracy and truth,” Ali Majedi, who is deputy minister for international affairs and trading, said.
He was reacting to reports of a 20-billion-dollar deal between Iran and Russia.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Russia can help to organize crude oil supplies from Iran.
“The implementation of the agreement with Iran will create conditions for tapping the potential of trade and economic cooperation between our countries, which should boost bilateral trade with more Russian goods and services going to Iran in such areas as metallurgy, ore mining, car making, machine-and ship-building, agriculture, and pharmaceutics,” the minister said.
