Iranian Power Plants Involved in Sri Lanka Projects

TEHRAN August 3 (Shana)-- Islamic Republic of Iran’s electricity companies are actively present in electricity projects in other countries including a rural power supply project in Sri Lanka.

An Iranian Energy Ministry’s official, Vlai-o-ddin Maslehati Sheribiani, told Shana that Iranian companies are involved in implementation of a project in Sri Lanka which aims at supplying electricity to one thousand villages in the country.  
He said the project started in August 2010 and now 400 Seri Lankan villages have access to electricity.
According to the official, Iranian companies plan to step up implementation of the project.
The project’s value is estimated at about 110 million dollars.
